So you have downloaded your template.

Not sure where to begin? Well lets start here.

HOW TO DOWNLOAD YOUR TEMPLATE

Step 1. How to access and download your file.


1. Once your payment has confirmed you will recieved a download link with a PDF. 2. Click on Link attached 3. Enter password (in UPPERCASE). We send you a dropbox link to ensure you always will have the most up to date version of your template.
--------------------------------- 4. Click on the link to download your files. You NEED read me first to install fonts.

File ending in:
.pptx = microsoft powerpoint template
.key = apple keynote template If it loads this page:
Click download > Direct Download --------------------------------- Please save your files somewhere safe on your computer




Step 2. Installing Fonts - Do not open ebook template beforehand.


BEFORE YOU OPEN YOUR EBOOK TEMPLATE The first thing you want to do before you open your ebook template is install the fonts listed in in the PDF '► READ ME FIRST - INTALL FONTS'. If you don't install the fonts first the design will not load properly when you open the file.

Please click on links shown in green below. Then download free font from website. ONCE FONTS ARE CORRECTLY INSTALLED it's time to get into the fun stuff! Open your template file to begin filling it in





HOW TO CUSTOMIZE YOUR TEMPLATE

1. TEXT

1a | How to add text?


1. Click into textbox and highlight formatted text 2. Start typing in your text




1c | Changing Font Style


1. Click on textbox or highlight text 2. Select font style from top tool bar under the 'Home' Tab




1d | Changing Font Size


1. Highlight text or click on textbox 2. Select font size in the top toolbar under the Home 'Tab'




1e | Moving text boxes around


Click on the textbox edge and drag to where you wish to move it.




1f | Duplicating text boxes


Make sure textbox has text already in it
- Right click on text box then click Copy
- Right click on page and select Paste




1g | I want to change all font styles to my own brand fonts


So you already have branding for your business and want to change all the fonts to match you current brand. Before you start adding content to your ebook you need to change the font style in powerpoint 'Slide Master' which is the backend of powerpoint.

1. Click 'View' Tab
2. Click 'Slide Master'
(Slide Master View: ensure your template has consistant fonts/background)
3. Now you are in 'Slide Master' View you can now go through and change all the fonts and background colors. IMPORTANT you DO NOT want to be adding your content in Slide Master eg. images and text.


4. After you have changed the font style/colors REMEMBER to click on 'Slide Master' Tab and 'Close Master' 5. You can now start filling out your ebook template!




1b | How to edit footer text?


- Edit Footer: View > Header and Footer. Replace text under footer and click ‘Apply to All’ - Remove Footer: View > Header and Footer. Untick Slide Number and Footer and click ‘Apply to All’





2. IMAGES

2b. How to adjust or crop an image


To adjust an image inside image box.

1. Double click on the image
2. Click on 'Crop' in Top toolbox
3. Click and hold the center of the image and drag to adjust image.

To crop image simple move the bolded edges crop image




2c. How to replace an image with another


Unlike the keynote program you can't drag and drop another image over the previous to replace it. Don't worry it's still easy! 1. Click on the image to select it.
2. Click [delete] button on keyboard, you will see the placeholder image box appear again.
3. Drop another image onto placeholder image box

If the image moves to the top layer covering some design elements as seen below with the triangles.

Simply double click on the image and click 'Send to Back' in the top tool bar




2d. How to delete an image and placeholder image box


1. Click on image and hit [delete] button on keyboard
2. Then click on placeholder holder box and hit [delete] button again




2a. How to add images


In your template you will see placeholder image boxes (they can be patterned or grey)

1. Drag an image from anywhere on your computer onto the placeholder box

OR

1. Click on the icon in the middle of the box and select an image





4. EXPORTING EBOOK/SOCIAL MEDIA

4a. Compressing: How can I make my ebook file size smaller?


If you are using high quality stock photos or high quality large images, you might find you ebook will be quite large once you save it. This is how you can compress your ebook: 1. Click File > Compress Pictures 2. Select the quality which will lower your ebook size but not ruin the quality of your image. This will depend on your individual starting photo quality to play around. The lower the ppi the smaller the file size.




4c. When I save my eBook as a PDF there is a white border.


If your ebook is saving with a white border here is how you can save it without one.

1. Click File > Print
2. Change paper size to 'US Letter Borderless' then click PDF > Save as PDF




4b. How to save my eBook as a PDF?


Save as ebook:
File > Save As > Select PDF next to Format: > Save




4d. Exporting Social Media Templates as images/JPEG


1. Click File > Export... 2. Choose 'JPEG' or 'PNG' for File Format. Choose desire export size. Click 'Export'





THE BASICS

How to add images


In your template you will see placeholder image boxes (they can be patterned or grey)

1. Drag an image from anywhere on your computer onto the placeholder box

OR

1. Click on the icon in the middle of the box and select an image




I can't move or select something in the template.


You may notice a few elements that can not be selected or move on the page these elements can only be edited in the Master Slide (which is like the backend of the template) It’s very simple to access. 1. Click on View then Slide Master 2. Click on the page you want to edit on the left then the element you edit.
In this view you can change: font style, background color, move design elements, delete design element. ****IMPORTANT you DO NOT add your content in this view****
3. Once you finish customising the background pieces click on Close Master View (Very important)




How can I change the background color?


You may notice the background can not be selected or move, these elements can only be edited in the (which is like the backend of the template) It’s very simple to access.​
1. Under the 'View' tab click on 'Slide Master' 2. You can either change background color by click 'Shape Fill' under the 'Shape Format' Tab. OR right click on any design element and select 'Format Shape' 3. Once you click Format Shape. the Format Shape Tool Box will appear on the right. You can now customise your background or any other design elements in the template. **IMPORTANT you DO NOT put in your content (photos & text) in the Slide Master view** 4. Once you finish customising the background pieces click on Close Master View (Very important) Then you can continue filling out your ebook template.




How to edit footer text?


  • Edit Footer: View > Header and Footer. Replace text under footer and click ‘Apply to All’

  • Remove Footer: View > Header and Footer. Untick Slide Number and Footer and click ‘Apply to All’




How to save my eBook as a PDF?


Save as ebook:
File > Save As > Select PDF next to Format: > Save




Exporting Social Media Templates as Images


1. Click File > Export... 2. Choose 'JPEG' or 'PNG' for File Format. Choose desire export size. Click 'Export'




Want more pages? - delete page & rearrange pages


DUPLICATE PAGE:
Right click on any page template and select 'Duplicate Slide’
**Do not use ‘New Slide’ Button above other than for a blank page as some design elements may not appear.
DELETE PAGE:
Right click on any page and select 'Delete Slide'

REARRANGE PAGES: Click and hold page and drag to rearrange order




How to add text?


1. Click into textbox and highlight formatted text 2. Start typing in your text




Reorder Objects


Sometimes when you replace images, your image might reposition infront of your your text.
Here is how you can reorder your object.

1. Select your object you want to move
2. Click on Picture Format
3. Click 'Bring Back' or 'Reorder Object' (see animation below)

ADDING TEXT
 
Click on placeholder text box and add in your own content. You can still freely move around text box or resize as you wish
ADDING IMAGES OR REPLACING IMAGES
 
  • Drag and drop your image file into the grey placeholde OR click on icon in the grey placeholder and select your desired image

  • Adjust Image: Click on Image and select the first symbol on the left and resize and readjust. 

  • Replace an image: Click on the pre-existing image and delete. The grey placeholder box should appear again and then drag and drop in your new image

​EDITING FOOTER
 
  • Edit Footer: View > Header and Footer. Replace text under footer and click ‘Apply to All’

  • Remove Footer: View > Header and Footer. Untick Slide Number and Footer and click ‘Apply to All’

DUPLICATE, REARRANGE & DELETE PAGES
 
  • Duplicate Pages: Right click on any page template and select 'Duplicate Slide’

  • Rearrange Pages: Click and hold page and drag to rearrange order

  • Delete Pages: Right click on any page and select 'Delete Slide' 

 

*I do not recommend using 'new slides' feature as some elements do not appear*

​COMPRESS & SAVE AS PDF
 
  • Compress File: File> Reduce File Size > Select 'OK’. I choose 200ppi but if i’m using high quality large stock photos the file size still might be quite large even after I compress it so then I select 150ppi

  • Save as ebook: File > Save As > Select PDF next to Format: > Save

ADDING CLICKABLE LINKS TO YOUR EBOOK
 

It's very simple to add clickable links into your ebook once you have saved your final PDF. Links are perfect to add to your connect with me page to make it easier for your reader to visit your social media handles or your final call out text. We also have our T3 Ebook Template that includes buttons throughout the ebook (this is great for affiliate links).

  • I love using sejda.com/pdf-editor

  • Click "Upload PDF file"

  • Select the Link Tool and drag a box over buttons or social media text.

  • After you finish click save at the bottom and then download!

EDITING MASTER SLIDE

You may notice a few elements that can not be selected or move on the page these elements can only be edited in the Master Slide (which is like the backend of the template)  It’s very simple to access.

  • Click on the Theme Tab and then the 'Edit Master’ button

  • Then you can move, resize or change colour of any elements you wish

  • After you finish click “Close’

  • Then you should see your changes have been made

​CHANGING COLORS TO ELEMENTS
 
  • Double click on the coloured shape

  • Click on Fill and then choose desired color. If you find that you can’t select a certain object then refer to the step above in 'Editing in Master Slide'
